Throttle back

My schedule during May has throttled back considerably. We only had one event in Bourbonnais, IL with a dual purpose. We had a booth at the Illinois Christian Homeschool Educators Conference at Olivet Nazarene University (my alma mater 😊) to recruit students for our 2024 Marine Biology program. We had the chance to talk to many people about the Marine Bio experience as well as our ministry. We are offering an early bird special to encourage sign-ups. Now we are praying that it will be fruitful and result in several registrations. Our second purpose was to visit Calvary Bible Church, our home church, to give an update on our past year of ministry. I also taught the lesson on the Archaeology of Daniel during Sunday school. (This lesson is on our website.) It’s always so great to visit with old friends! I am still busy recording podcasts (and videos) when we can. Our latest series is on why we have so many Bible translations (listen to it here).

I believe the reason God has throttled things back is because of our plan to relocate. This frees me up to look at homes when they come available. We were able to go down two weekends to look at houses, but still have not found the one. We made another offer, but again, someone else beat us to it. PTL! We do have an accepted offer on our home! We are awaiting the report on the appraisal to make things final. Closing is scheduled for June 30^th.

As mentioned above, we are accepting applications for the 2024 Marine Biology program, March 28 – April 6. We are offering an Early Bird special of $100 off to anyone who registers by June 30^th. Space is limited to 25 and we already have 4 signed up! Go to the program page for all the details.

As we begin our third fiscal year, we are at 50% of the $12,500 we need monthly for salaries and expenses. We currently have a team of 48 faithful monthly donors (we recently lost two totaling $800) and are looking for more people to partner with us by committing to giving each month. It’s easier to budget when we know how much we can count on monthly.
