This 10-part series is focused on how to be a Christian and practice daily Christian living according to God’s instructions through the Bible. This series includes how to do a Bible study, dealing with past sin, how to navigate dating and marriage, attending church, daily practices, offering, worship, prayer, and how to listen to God. This is a good starting point for new Christians and not-so new Christians needing to learn foundational habits for a flourishing Christian walk.
CONTENT ADVISORY: Session 2 and 4 have content advisories. Parents of minors, please read carefully and proceed as appropriate. If you are a minor (under 18), I can’t stop you but do not proceed if you are not ready to speak about these topics with a trusted adult.

The first step to Christian living is to know God’s Word. You know God’s Word by studying it. This lesson will take you through a simple Bible Study method using the parable of the Good Samaritan as an example. The 5Ws and the H is a Bible Study method that helps you develop questions to guide your research about scripture and gain a deeper understanding. You can listen to another example of this method using the Treasure and A Pearl parable here: https://evidence4faith.org/portfolio/how-to-do-a-bible-study/

CONTENT ADVISORY: This lesson deals with past sins, some of which are not very fun to talk about (including sexual sin). There are no explicit or detailed descriptions but parents are encouraged to listen first to determine what is appropriate for their children to listen to.
When a person becomes a Christian, they are forgiven of all their sins! But guilt often stays behind and it can be difficult to forgive ourselves and find a way forward. Old and new Christians can find themselves stuck down memory lane and unable to live in the joy of their salvation. In this lesson you will learn about forgiveness, repentance, and guilt and how to deal with past sins that just don’t seem to leave you alone.

Online church has become the norm and current trends indicate in-person church attendance is shrinking. But this is not a new problem. With our modern impressions or understanding of church, some may feel out of place or disconnected and really question the purpose of their local church. Is church necessary to a Christian’s faith? To begin answering this question, it is important to understand what the Biblical standard and purpose for a church is. This lesson will help you understand what church is meant to be and how to plug into a church to strengthen your faith.

CONTENT ADVISORY: This lesson talks about dating, fondling, and other sex-related topics. This lesson DOES NOT go into overt details nor gives instructions on sexual acts. The most explicit content in this lesson is from the reading of Ezekiel 23 which describes a story of prostitution. Parents of minors are recommended to listen to this lesson to determine if it is appropriate for their children. If you are a minor (under 18) who found this lesson on your own, we recommend you only continue listening if you are prepared to discuss it with a trusted adult and (if applicable) the individual you are dating.
Do you feel frustrated, confused, or disillusioned by modern dating? Have you tried searching the Bible for specific verses on dating and come up empty? Why has God not just sent you “the one”? The truth is dating as we know it today only started in the 1960s, centuries after the Bible was put together. You will not find specific advice in the Bible on modern dating for today’s cultural context. What you will find is instructions, advice, and principles about relationships and sexual relationships which apply throughout human history, no matter the culture. In this lesson you will learn how to find God’s instructions related to topics of dating and sex in scripture, and work through common questions and myths about Christian dating.

The secret to a good marriage is hard work. The secret to a good Christian marriage is the discipline to follow God’s design for marriage and hard work. The Bible has a lot to say about the relationship between a husband and his wife, their roles and responsibilities, and how they should comport themselves in public and private. A recurring theme is submission to God and submission to each other. But the word “submission” might leave a bad taste in your mouth as it has been used to justify abusive practices. This lesson will help you work through God’s design for marriage and your responsibilities as a married individual. This lesson also covers the controversial Ephesians 5:22-24 verses on wifely submission (spoiler: husbands, verses 25-33 are specifically for you! Don’t skip it!).
