EPISODE 1: what is the Temple Mount Project? | 17 Minutes

Located in Jerusalem, the Temple Mount resides on what used to be known as Mount Moriah and over the years it has been a place of many historical events. Throughout history it has changed hands many times and today is a place of great importance to Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Due to all the history that is stored there, laws were put in place that banned any excavating from taking place at the site. But in 1999, an illegal excavation began which involved the careless removal of piles of dirt from under the Temple Mount. To preserve the relics that were found there, The Temple Mount Sifting Project began. Since then, 85 percent of the debris has been sifted through, though much of it remains to be studied. Join us on this series as we journey back in time and explore all the history that can be unearthed from the soil.

EPISODE 3: Pre-Israelite History of the Temple Mount | 19 Minutes

The geographical location of the Temple Mount has not always been known by the name it carries today. As we find in Scripture, the region has been called the Land of Moriah, Salem, and Jebus. When King David conquered the land, it was then given the name of Jerusalem. But the Bible doesn’t go into much detail about what happened at this location during the time of the patriarchs or the Exodus or the period of the Judges. So, what was taking place at this time in history? Who was there? The Temple Mount Sifting Project has offered us some clues with the ancient artifacts they have found. In fact, we may have evidence that indicates that the infamous Thutmose III may have been in that very area. Join us today as we travel back in time and unearth the ancient history of the Temple Mount.
